Poverty, the environment, health, social justice – these are just a few of the critical issues facing the world today. One of the keys to finding solutions for these problems is to catalyze wealth and other resources in the form of philanthropy, social investment, corporate social responsibility and civic engagement. It will take input from a variety of “partners” in the community to develop effective and lasting solutions. But how can a diverse group of changemakers exchange current thinking and best practices while building relationships which foster collaboration? |

Launched in early 2006, Root Connection is our newest project designed to develop deeper interaction within a private community of changemakers. We are bringing together philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, social investors, and non-profit leaders for an active dialogue around experiences, projects and successful models. We firmly believe that our collective knowledge will spawn new ideas, effective collaborations and inspired solutions which will directly address several of the more complex and challenging issues facing our global society today. |

Our private community engages in two ways:
- Indaba: in-daba: Zulu. 1. A get together; 2. An important discussion between members of different tribes
Small group gatherings of about 20-25 people around a topic area. Our Indabas usually take place every other month and are currently held in New York City.
- Virtual Community: For more consistent interaction between our community members, we are currently developing our virtual platform which we hope to launch in early 2008.
