Shaking the Tree hosts events in two different formats.

Our “Indabas” – named after the Zulu word meaning a meeting of people from different tribes – are casual small group gatherings focused on a particular topic. Indabas usually take place over lunch or dinner.

The Living Case Study Workshop

The LCS workshop can feature either a live theater piece or a "teaching" film on DVD.

Using the forum of a dramatic piece followed by an interactive workshop, LCS gives family members and their various advisors the opportunity to objectively view and discuss difficult situations, often through the lens of personal introspection. The theatrical case study format allows the audience to evaluate critical "real-life concerns" from afar – almost as an observant outsider – which provides the flexibility to explore problems in many different ways.
